Good luck in the London Marathon Jamie

This Sunday, our friend Jamie Williams will be lining up at the start of the London Marathon to run 26.2 miles for The Christian Blandford Fund!

Jamie with Pete and Rob and the CBF TriathlonJamie has been training hard for months, long runs in all weathers, early mornings, and the kind of quiet dedication that doesn’t always make it onto social media but absolutely makes it to the finish line. He’s in great shape and targeting a time of around 3:20 to 3:25, which for those of you who don’t run marathons (most of us), is seriously impressive.

The support so far has been incredible. At the time of writing, Jamie’s fundraising page has raised £3,450 towards a £4,000 target, that’s 86% of the way there, and every penny goes directly towards supporting children and families during long stays in NHS hospitals. If you haven’t yet had the chance to donate, or if you’d like to add a little more, there’s still time, and it really does make a difference. And if you’re a UK taxpayer, please do remember to tick the Gift Aid box (it adds 25% at no extra cost to you).

We asked Jamie for a quick update ahead of the big day, and in typical fashion he mentioned that carb-loading at 8g per kg of bodyweight per day is “quite challenging”which we think translates to an awful lot of pasta.

So from all of us at The Christian Blandford Fund: good luck, Jamie. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.

With love,

Peter and Claudia
